General Information-FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.

How do I check out a book?
You bring the book and your school ID to the library's circulation counter.

How long can I keep a library book?
Library materials (including magazines and audio-books ) are checked out for two weeks, but you may renew them for another two weeks.

How many books can I check out a time?
You may have up to three books checked out in your name at any time.

I forgot my ID. Can a friend check out my book for me?
NO! You must have your ID to check out a book. We are happy to hold a book for you for one day so you can come back with your ID to get it. Checking out a book for another person makes you responsible for that book, even if they lose it. If you are caught checking out books for others you will lose your library privileges for one month. If you do it again...

Are there late fines?
Late books are charged at 10 cents per item, per day. There is a $5 maximum fine set for each item.

Can I use the computers?
The computers are available to all students on a first come, first served basis. Just like checking out books, you must have your ID to use the computers. Bring your school ID to the circulation desk and you will be assigned a computer.

What can I do on the computers?
The computers are for research and writing, both personal and academic. You have already signed the district Acceptable Use Policy. If you can't remember the do's and don'ts, click here to refresh your memory.

Can I print and make photocopies?
Yes. We have a printer that prints in both color and b&w. See posted signs or ask for help for instructions on printing. There is no cost to print school-related work. Personal printing is 10 cents/page for BW and 25 cents/page for color.

What are the library rules?
